Hepatitis B Prescreen and Postscreen

PRESCREEN:

Before you start the Hepatitis B series of 3 shots, there is a blood draw (Prescreen) we run to check if your body is already immune to the Hepatitis B anitbodies. After we do the Prescreen and the results come back Non-Reactive, then we would go ahead and start the Hepatitis B series. If your results come back as Reactive, then you will not need to start the Hepatitis B series, your body has proven it is already immune.

POSTSCREEN:

After you finish the entire Hepatitis B series of 3 shots, we will have you come back into our office to do a blood draw (Postscreen) to see if your body has taken to the antibodies and you're immune to Hepatitis B. Once your results come in, we will call and notify you of your results as Reactive to the vaccine or Non-Reactive to the Hepatitis B series. If the results come back Reactive, then your body has taken to the immunity and you will be finished with the Hepatitis B series, but if your results come back Non-Reactive then we will need for you to come back in to receive one more shot of the Hepatitis B vaccine. After that last shot we will run another Postscreen to see if you are immune to Hepatitis B or not. If your results come back Non-Reactive one more time, further attention will be provided.
